Stormzy returns to BBC Radio 1’s Live Lounge for the last week of Live Lounge Month and as the people’s champ, who better to invite back to the live lounge than Big Mike himself.
Stormzy started off by performing “Crown” admitting to host Clara Amfo that the Live Lounge makes him nervous. He then proceeded to perform one of his latest tracks “Sounds Of The Skeng” a simple but powerful set. Stormzy’s choice of cover for the Live Lounge was Beyonce’s “Brown Skin Girl”, taken from the recent Lion King soundtrack. He performed the song with singer Stalk Ashley to create a vibrant and touching performance which adds to the empowering tone of the song.
