Stormzy has called Jacob Rees-Mogg MP an “actual piece of s**t” following comments the politician made regarding the tragic Grenfell Tower fire.
The artist took to Twitter to express his anger towards Rees-Mogg’s appearance on LBC in which the Conservative MP implied those who died in the fire should have used “common sense” to leave the building, even though the London Fire Brigade advised residents not to.
Speaking on LBC, Jacob Rees-Mogg said: “If you just ignore what you’re told and leave you are so much safer.
“And I think if either of us were in a fire, whatever the fire bridge said, we would leave the burning building. It just seems the common sense thing to do.”
The politician received heavy backlash for his comments from numerous individuals, including Stormzy who didn’t hold back.
The south London artist took to Twitter to condemn the MP’s comments, before criticising the government in general for their involvement in the Grenfell Tower fire.
“Oi @Jacob_Rees_Mogg you need to resign you’re an actual piece of s**t I beg everyone watch this – MP Jacob Rees Mogg in a nutshell saying Grenfell Victims should of had the common sense to escape”, Stormzy began.
“I can’t believe the cheek f**king hell these these politicians are actual aliens.”
“This man is the scummiest. You can’t even make this stuff up… let’s bare in mind for 2 secs how horrifying and terrifying the situation would have been for the victims.
“Bare of you politicians are evil and wicked and that’s why we hate you.”
Stormzy has been very vocal about his opinions on Grenfell Victim, having called out Theresa May for her response to the tragic incident during his performance at the 2018 Brit Awards.
Writing in his biography Rise Up: The #Merky Story So Far, Stormzy explained he feels he has a “responsibility” to speak on behalf of those affected by the fire.
