In a historic move for both the festival and the artist, Stormzy has been confirmed as a headliner for one of the biggest stages in the world, Glastonbury.
Although the announcement is yet to be made formally, it was just about 100% confirmed when a poster appeared near Big Mike’s hometown in South London, posted on an Oxfam shop.
Last week Emily Eavis, daughter of the festival’s founder, hinted at the appearance of Stormzy. She said, “We have got one of the artists that I’m most excited about in Britain right now.
“This to me is going to be a moment. And he can become the enormous person that he is, do you know what I mean?”
Stormzy performed at Glastonbury on the Other Stage last year, but he’s the first grime MC to take to the iconic Pyramid stage as a headliner, with only one album under his belt.
Other artists rumoured to perform at Glastonbury 2018 are Madonna, Kylie Minogue and Paul McCartney.
