It has been revealed that anonymous street artist Banksy was behind Stormzy’s vest for the 25-year-old’s iconic Glastonbury headline performance.
The clothing choice was linked to Britain’s knife crime crisis and racial inequality in the criminal justice system.
The mysterious Bristol-born activist let the world know about the vest’s origin in a surprise Instagram post stating: “I made a customised stab-proof vest and thought – who could possibly wear this? Stormzy at Glastonbury”.
Stormzy also wrote on Instagram, “You’ll never know what this means to me. I feel like I am dreaming this is all a dream. Honoured, grateful, thank you, I don’t have any words for this.. Tears of joy”
Evidently, two legends made great statements at this year’s Glastonbury Festival.
