Supporters that signed up to Stormzy.com for exclusive invites, music and tour dates were treated to an impromptu link up, courtesy of those at Noisey and Vice UK. This link up was more so to say thank you to those who have helped push The Wicked Skengman’s new single “Know Me From” as it climbs the iTunes Hip Hop (we really need a Grime category) charts sitting comfortably amongst the likes of Kanye West and Jme.
It was a cold afternoon and the support was strong as supporters (Stormlets? I don’t know, could be a thing) filled the courtyard of Noisey’s offices to hear Stormzy shell down his catalogue of sing-alongs. A spaced out Flipz grinned as his cameo lyric, “Ask Flipz should I kill him or no” poured through the speakers where DJ Tiiny kept the music flowing on his Mac.
Amongst the madness of supporters eagerly waiting to take a selfie and Snapchat their link up with the rising star, something new started playing, future release? Who knows, but until then, support his latest single #KnowMeFrom. Especially as it looks to chart in the top 40 by the end of the week (and if it does we should expect a new freestyle).
