SZN Settings is an events company that started while the creators were students at the University of Warwick. Dom and Rushat wanted to exploit the gap in the market there was for underground hip hop and RnB events. While attending university, they realised the midlands was begging for an event that really catered to this market; This is how SZN Settings was born.

We had the pleasure of being invited to attend SZN Settings’ first London show on the 3rd of September, headlined by Kofi Stone and featuring performances from Feux and Safiyyah. Also supporting the event were DJs Sanaseh, DJ Price and Keanu. The event took place at the Peckham Levels in Room 450, a local residential hub with six different levels that was home an exquisite-looking food court and bar. The show was also sponsored by HL Vodka, a local brand from Peckham.

Opening up the night was Safiyyah. The RnB singer-songwriter hailing from West London set the tone of the night bringing RnB and Amapiano vibes and stirring up the crowd including a soulful performance of “Be Someone” from her 2020 EP Third Eye. Safiyyah was supported by saxophonist Solarris who treated the crowd to his incredible saxophone solos.

The next performer was North-West London’s Feux. The up-and-coming rapper shelled it with his energetic stage presence and conviction. The performance of his hit single “Life?” was particularly lively and had the crown brimming with energy. The room felt electric as Feux treated us to head-bopping bars and flows.

Closing out the night was headliner Kofi Stone. The talented Birmingham rapper didn’t disappoint, showcasing his skillful wordplay and storytelling live in the flesh. By this point the audience was going crazy, Kofi’s performance of his 2020 single “Nothing Ain’t Free” stood out especially with the crowd captivated by his stage presence.

With Sanaseh, Keanu and DJ Price keeping the crowd buzzing between sets and the hype performances from Kofi Stone, Feux and Safiyyah, SZN Settings definitely delivered for their first London show, the night was a perfect mixture of good music and good vibes.

With aims to take over London, the UK and even festivals, SZN Settings are a name to look out for. You can check them out on Instagram @SZNSettings. Photography by @tsshotss & @playingcharad3s.
