Team GB arrived back in London today after an impressive Olympics display.

After winning 67 medals in this tournament (compared to 65 in 2012), Great Britain’s record breaking team is the first country to better their home medal haul in the following Olympics.

Team GB were greeted by hundreds of jubilant fans, who were no doubt proud that the country had won gold medals across more sports than any other nation (15) and remarkably, had bettered their medal haul for the fifth consecutive Games.

With 27 gold medals from the 67 they won, Team GB finished second in the medal table – impressively above China for the first time since the latter nation returned to the Olympic Games in 1984.

Overall, this has been a memorable Olympics with the likes of Mo Farah and Andy Murray once again pushing boundaries. Let’s hope the levels continue to be raised in 2020…
