GRM Battle Rap round up is back, and this week we have a variety of battles for your viewing pleasure.
Kicking it off we head over to Don’t Flop for Unanymous vs Shuffle T.
Each battler’s style has proven popular with fans over the years. Unan’s aggression along with descriptive schemes against Shuffle T’s chucklesome attitude and deliberate sarcastic delivery makes this a very funny battle to watch.
Let us know who you think won and why.
For your second dose of lyrical disrespect we head over to Canada’s King Of The Dot.
Pass (formerly known as Passwurds), is well known and respected for his craft in the battle rap scene. Another battler who has been gaining his reverence over the past few years is Chilla Jones.
I’ll be honest, I initially found the way Chilla Jones would drag and over hype his bars really annoying, but over his last few battles he’s become far more tolerable as he improves round by round.
Pass is one my favourite battlers of all time, from taking on the likes of Hollow Da Don, Immaculate and many more, he is a big challenge for anyone he chooses to battle.
For our third lyrical dual we head over to New York, hosted on SMACK/URL, this battle is taken from the Summer Madness Card.
This one is not a joke, Big T aka Mr Cha Laka Boom is top ten within the game in my opinion, so is Shotgun Suge. While certain performances have been shaky from both men, it’s fair to say every battle they have been in has been entertaining.
Both of them are from the streets, Big T has been shot in head and lived to tell the tale, while Suge and his Newark Grape Street goons are known for their consistent crud.
However this is all about the lyrics and these two don’t fall short when it comes to bars and schemes, especially the ones about guns.
Its basically two bullies going at it… SMACCCKKKKKK!
To lighten the mood after those two giants went at it we head back to Don’t Flop.
Featured on DF’s Extra channel, we see Deep Throat Thug take on Big Daddy Bleach.
Some of you may be looking at these names like what the f**k! But if you’re looking for a foul mouthed female who can dish out comical verbal abuse with no remorse, taking on an equally disrespectful male counter part in Big Daddy Bleach, then this one is for you. Hilarious!
This week’s ‘Wild Card’ and final battle was suggested to me on twitter by a fellow battle rap enthusiast (big up @SoTheKid).
While I’m not the biggest fan of Jon Jon Da Don or Mr Wavy *cue the people getting at me as to why I don’t rate them as highly as most*, I have to say this one is was an interesting battle.
Check it out.
