Welcome to the first edition of our best music videos of the week list in 2016, the one-stop place you need to hit up to pree exactly what visual goodness has dropped from the rap heavens. With (just about) the first week of 2016 on it’s way out now, artists and MC’s across the country have stayed extremely busy over the holiday period. Check out this week’s list, curated by our guy Griff, featuring a very special “new year, new me” kind of vibe; we definitely didn’t see this one coming…

Ghetts x Rude Kid – One Take

Ghetts and Rude Kid lift another visual from their ‘Six Five Three’ EP, which dropped at the end of last year. They put Mercston, Scorcher and of course the GRM cameras on the guest list for one hell of a house party, leaving the madness that ensued ad the official video for “One Take”.

Wong Williams – Know That

The “new year, new me” scenario mentioned earlier, is the return of the infamous Mr Wong – now going by a new alias, Wong Williams – who dropped a new video and a new album too, hilariously titled ‘The Yellow Michael Jackson’. 2016 has already been historically marked as the year Wong returned, smashing his way onto this list with those steampunk goggles alone. Know that those are STYLISH, bruv.

808INK – Q’d Up

808INK are a rap collective doing things a little differently. From South London, the collective features MC’s, producers and creatives, all of which clearly have talent. “Q’d Up” is a viciously aggressive track, with a dope and dynamic video to match, which changes pace with the song at the mid-way point. Expect some more sickness from these lot throughout the year.

Scrufizzer – Better Place

Even we have to say, this is a very dope concept. Highlighting different ends across London, Potter Payper, Cadet, Gunna Dee and Rapman all paint a picture of what their home town is like. Our pick on this week’s list though has to be Scrufizzer, who lyrically explores Ealing out West.

Cashtastic – Wake Up

If you think Cashtastic’s geographical situation was slowing the music down, then wake up. He released a new visual from the poolside in Jamaica, finessing throughout with one of the best skanks of the year.
