The 5 best music videos of the week [010] #GRMVOTW

14 March 2016

Welcome back to our definitive guide to the best music videos of the week, your only must-visit destination for the best visuals in the scene. This week, we had a whole bunch of sick videos to choose from and we’ve landed a very strong 5 as a result. Pree 5 of the most creatively directed music videos below, brought to you by our guy Griff.

Jevon – “Obeah”

Jevon keeps things simple in his video for his track “Obeah”, but to great effect. The black and white visuals have been edited to create a dark aesthetic, complimenting the glitching, hard instrumental with animation. His mixtape ‘Dark Is The New Black’ is out now, if you want to hear more from the Rated Award winner.

Coco – “Big N Serious”

Veteran Sheffield MC Coco is taking his levels up it seems, as he goes two for two with the bangers, dropping a new video for his tune “Big N Serious”. Another visual that uses animation well, the video is looking to push Coco even further after he dropped “Big Bou Yah”, both of which are produced by fellow Steel City man Toddla T.

P Money – “10/10” (Remix ft. Blacks, AJ Tracey, PK, Capo Lee, Saf One, Coco, Jammz & Discarda)

P Money gives his rave smash “10/10” a brand new bad boy remix, featuring a huge roster of some of the best MC’s on 140 around at at the minute and with that one of our best music videos of the week. Featuring – hold your breath – none other than; Blacks, AJ Tracey, PK, CapoLee, Saf One, Coco, Jammz and man like Discarda, and with a riddim from Sir Spyro, this street visual was always going to have energy.

Dapz On The Map – “Shinobi (Part 1)”

The next video on our list is from another out-of-Londoner, with West Brom rep Dapz On The Map landing in. He takes the spot with his new release for “Shinobi (Part 1)”, as he links up with his masked goons to bring the the gritty track on road. We expect some melody from Dapz, but this time there’s no frills: just bars.

Maxsta – “M Sport Freestyle”

Maxsta has been quieter than usual recently, but we’re hoping this new activity means he’s about to come out punching. He dropped a video for his hot off the press freestyle “M Sport”, as alongside Ghost K films, we let the camera catch all of Max’s punchlines and flows. There’s plenty of quotables in this one.
