Welcome back to #GRMFreshestOut, the one-stop place for the best tunes of the week. Griff has rounded up the 5 best songs from across the pond, and as always it’s a diverse playlist you don’t want to miss out on. Check in and check out. #GRMFreshestOut
A$AP Rocky ft. Rod Stewart, Miguel & Mark Ronson – “Everyday”
Kicking off this week’s list is the Mob’s main man A$AP Rocky. Although his forthcoming new album ‘At.Long.Last.A$AP’ has been delayed until June 2nd, it hasn’t stopped his flow of new music. “Everyday” is probably the best release so far from the new album, featuring pop-rock god Rod Stewart and Miguel on the hook and Mark Ronson on the buttons. We’ve been bumping this one every day this week.
Future – “56 Nights”
Next on our list is everyone’s favourite sad-robot Future, who has been slyly dropping some sick trap music throughout this year. “56 Nights” is the titular track from his last mixtape, which was inspired by his DJ having to spend 56 nights in a Dubai prison.
Vince Staples – “Senorita”
This track was in last week’s #GRMFreshestOut, but now the video’s dropped and it’s still sounding hot-as-hell. Vince Staples is a young MC with a limitless supply of hard bars and seemingly a good art direction team behind him too, because this visual is sick.
Raekwon ft. Snoop Dogg – “1, 2, 1, 2”
After a newcomer, it’s time for a couple of veterans. Raekwon and Snoop Dogg unite the East and West Coasts on this new banger of a track, which has the pair trading bars over a beat from Scoop DeVille that sounds like an unstoppable freight train. The old dudes still got it, that’s for sure. “1, 2, 1, 2” is lifted from Raekwon’s latest album ‘F.I.L.A.’.
Tink – “Million”
Tink, the newest protege emerging from Timbaland’s camp, is a name you should be familiar with by now if you keep up with #GRMFreshestOut. She’s proved over a handful of tracks that she’s undeniably got bars, but on “Million” she proves she’s more than just a rapper. Channeling Aaliyah’s “One In A Million” classic record (a brave feat in itself), she totally pulls it off, switching between singing and rapping throughout. To top it off, she truly seems to bring the best out of Timbaland, as this beat is bananas.
