In honour of The Last of Us Day, game developer Naughty Dog gave a variety announcements and updates, revealing new merchandise, freebies, and how the popular game is going to be turned into a board game.
The new board game is going to be made in partnership with publisher CoolMiniOrNot (CMON), which was previously responsible for Bloodborne: The Board Game and God of War: The Card Game.
Although there isn’t much more information surrounding the board game yet, Naughty Dog revealed that it will “bring the characters and world of The Last of Us to a tabletop format”.
When talking about the announcement, Geoff Skinner, CMON’s vice president of entertainment and head of licensing said, “Remembering the impact The Last of Us had on me when I first experienced it years ago, and then being completely stunned by The Last of Us Part 2, I knew this was a narrative experience we wanted to bring to the board gaming table.”
In addition, new merchandise from The Last of Us has been unveiled – this includes a series of new sculptures of older Ellie and younger Ellie and Joel.
