Bonkaz – And Dat
Bonkaz is back talking breeze on a new hard recording. Taken from his upcoming project ‘Mixtape Of The Year’, “And Dat” gives us a taste of what’s to come: a return to Bonkaz’ roots with some crud-talking, unpredictable flows.
Jammz – Merky Spade
This week Jammz wasn’t taking any Christmas spirit in the grime scene, taking a ferocious shot at Merky Ace. Clearly Jammz isn’t scared of any more-experienced MC’s, spitting with confidence some serious sends against the veteran.
Capo Lee – Funeral Parlour
Capo Lee keeps things grimy on his latest track “Funeral Parlour”, a booming, haunting riddim backed by his energetic bars. Just like Jammz, Capo Lee is acting on sight, sending some lyrics the way of So Large.
Krept – Last Night In Lagos
For anyone thinking that the success may have directed Krept (and presumably Konan) away from the bars, you are very wrong. Standing solo for a freestyle, Krept delivers some introspective verses over a minimal instrumental, venting from a real place. That’s just how they do on the 7 side.
Ellz – Studio ’13 (ft. Bonkaz, Temz & Renz)
Thornton Heath natives Ellz, Bonkaz, Temz (of Clipstar) and Renz throw things back to 2013, with the former releasing this unheard tune onto his SoundCloud page. Produced by Badside, the song explores a couple difficult relationships.
Geko – Situation
Geko, Manchster’s rising star, also had a gift for his fans on Christmas Day. He released loosie “Situation” online, a track which has him talking about his upbringing, the roads and beyond, over some soft production, backed by an acoustic guitar and drums that pop and click calmly.
Chip – Hear Dis (ft. Stormzy)
Chip’s 2015 has been a really interesting arc to watch unfold, starting with his return with new tracks “I’m Fine”, down to the wars throughout the year, right up to now. He entered back into the ring with one perception and has been birthed out the other end with a totally different one, like a phoenix out the ashes. He’s enjoying his victory lap right now, like his new track “Hear Dis” with Stormzy demonstrates.
