The third season of The Rap Game UK has officially been announced!

Hosted by DJ Target, Krept and Konan, The Rap Game UK is a BAFTA-nominated competition show in which six unsigned rappers receive a masterclass in rap to break into the music industry.

Each episode will see the artists take part in challenges to help them hone their skills and they’ll also receive mentoring from some huge names in the scene such as Ghetts, Chip, Dizzee Rascal, Ivorian Doll, Russ, Hardy Caprio, Darkoo and more!

The past two seasons have been shot in Birmingham but this upcoming series will be filmed across Manchester with a new cash prize of £20,000 for the winner, as well as a mentor scheme to help them create, launch and promote new music following the competition.

Previous winners include Kiico and Graft, who dropped the video for his track “You Know What” earlier this month.

Ricky Cooper, BBC Factual Commissioning Editor says: “After finding incredible new artists from all over Britain, this series of The Rap Game UK is set to be bigger and better than ever. The show’s unique blend of authenticity, storytelling, humour and epic MC showdowns has proven a hit with audiences, and I can’t wait to see who Krept, Konan and DJ Target crown this year’s winner.”

As well as announcing the new series of The Rap Game UK, DJ Target has also returned with another edition of The Rap Map – giving you a platform to get your bars heard by the best in the game.

To get your name on the map, you need to record a video in under 60 seconds, vertically, acapella with no beats, rapping about your life. DJ Target will be selecting his favourite entry each week to play on 1Xtra, so get involved and get your story heard. Click here for more info.

You can tune in to the new season of The Rap Game UK when it kicks off on BBC iPlayer this Thursday (July 22), with a new episode coming out each week!
