Introducing The Shortlist.

Featuring the hottest MC’s, rappers and artists that you’re going to be hearing a hell of a lot of over the next 12 months and beyond. From rap to grime, R&B to drill, there’s a flavour for everybody on our new album.

Handpicked by us at GRM Daily to create some original music, we’ve brought together the UK undergrounds freshest talent into one place, just for you.

This is the future of our scene and we’re over the moon to be able to provide this platform for them.

The album is out now across all streaming platforms: iTunesApple MusicSpotify. While you get familiar with the music, we thought it’s only right we start introducing the key players from the project.

Now, we’d like to introduce you to Berna.

What ends are you from?

I’m originally from Stratford, East London but now reside in Essex.

Inspiration is always key. What inspires you to make music?

My biggest inspiration is my older brother who passed away, which is everything that’s driving me to be where I am right now.

For the next year and 5 years, what are your goals?

The goal for the next year is to bring out a sick mixtape or an EP. In five years, it has to be winning awards all over the country – RATED awards, MOBO awards, all of that.

Dream collaborations in the UK and across the world?

The UK would 100% be Stormzy. Worldwide is Drake, he’s the biggest artist in the world at the moment.

With your first cheque in music, what are you gonna do with it?

Just go halves with my manager, init. Then just go from there I guess (laughs).

Taking it back, what was the first MP3/CD that you bought?

Erm… I downloaded Meek Mill – Dreamchasers back in 2011, I believe.

Name me your top 5 MCs of all time from the UK

Ghetts, Stormzy, Skepta, Blade Brown, J Hus

What would you say your standout video is that put you on the map?

Easy, my BL@CKBOX freestyle… 100%.

For the next few months what have you got in store for everyone?

I’ve got a big freestyle, then I’m going to release my first proper music video, so keep an eye out for that.
