UK stand up!
American magazine The Source has named Skepta and Kojey Radical as 2 of their British Artists to watch out for in 2016.
The famous US magazine, touched upon Skepta’s rise to fame, working with the likes of Wiley and of course The Source mentioned his recent spike in popularity, calling “Shutdown” a track that, ‘revived a whole genre and arguably gave the scene a new height than the golden era of mid 2000s’ .
Skepta’s influence here and across the pond aren’t doubted, with our American counterparts calling him ‘one of the pioneers of post-millennium British music’.
Kojey Radical being included in this list is a slightly less obvious choice and comes not long after he was tipped as being ‘Hot for 2016’ by BBC 1Xtra.
His latest offering, “Blind Eye”, featuring Frank Gamble was described as, ‘lyrical narrative with alternative left of field beats, exhibiting strong remnants of the much-heralded Bristol Trip-Hop explosion of the 90s’.
There’s still one more artist to be announced as part of their British Artist To Watch series, who do you think it’ll be?
