Coronavirus: Three Quarters Of England To Be In Tier 4 From Tomorrow

The UK government have now announced that millions will face tougher coronavirus restrictions from midnight tonight (December 31).

Speaking to the Commons, Health Secretary Matt Hancock revealed that nearly three quarters of England’s population will be in Tier 4 from tonight.

Areas such as the Midlands, North East and parts of the North West and South West will be moved into Tier 4, with almost all remaining areas in Tier 2 being escalated into Tier 3.

“We must all stick at it during the difficult weeks ahead,” Matt Hancock said at the end of his speech.

“We end 2020 still with great challenges but also with hope and confidence that in 2021 we have a brighter future ahead.”
