Tanzanian-born and New Cross-raised artist Tiggs Da Author has blessed us with his first ever album titled Blame It On The Youts.
Containing eleven original tracks, Tiggs’ debut record is a combination of sounds such as afrobeat, jazz and soul which fuse together to create a spirited body of work filled with hard-hitting messages.
Tiggs serves as the sole vocalist on the majority of the project, but we do hear him connect with his frequent collaborator Nines on the recently released “Fly ‘Em High”.
“Listen to this and you’ll be in the brain of this teenager who’s explaining exactly how he feels,” Tiggs said of the album. “Me moving from Tanzania then growing up in south London with no father figure. You just have to learn from your mistakes and teach yourself how to be a man.”
