UPDATE 8TH NOVEMBER 2017: Kano has just confirmed that the show will 100% be returning to our screens and brought to us on Netflix in 2019.
If that’s not enough to gas us for 2019, the rumours of Drake’s involvement have been confirmed with an insta post from the Champagne Papi himself. The series is his introduction into executive producing and he’s doing it alongside his business partner and producer Adel “Future” Nur.
Ashley Walters then utilised his new 280 character limit to give a statement.
The original writer Ronan Bennett is continuing his work on the series alongside director Yann Demange. A Netflix press release details that the show “picks up as Dushane (Walters) returns from exile to his home in London to reclaim his throne in the highly lucrative drug market. He teams up with Sully (Kane Robinson), his spiritual brother, partner, and sometime rival who is also returning to the same streets after his own form of exile – prison – comes to an end. Awaiting them both is Jamie, the young, hungry and ruthless gang leader whose ambitions leave no place for Dushane and Sully.”
Rumour has it that that Sully (Kane Robinson aka Kano) and Dushane (Ashely Waters) will be back on our screens for two new seasons of the TV drama favourite, Top Boy.
According to a new report from the Radio Times have reported that an official announcement is expected to be made immediately and the show will be broadcast on Netflix.
The series first aired back at the end of October 2011, with the second season taking place in August 2013, it has been some wait, but hopefully soon we’ll have new episodes of Top Boy to watch on our screens.
Rumours have also been circled that Drake and Skepta could have a serious role in the seasons to come, guess we just have to wait and see, but this great new for fans of the series!
