2022 has arrived and we’re happy to present you with the first Top Tier Trainers edition of the year! Last year saw the release of several huge sneakers and if the drops this month are anything to go by, we can expect 2022 to be just the same.

As well as receiving new colourways of popular models, we’re also going to be treated to Drake’s highly-anticipated NOCTA trainer this month and a movie-inspired collab – kicking off the year the right way!

To see some of the Top Tier Trainers dropping in January, have a look at the kicks below!

6th January – Nike Dunk Low Harvest Moon

Nike Dunk Lows were undoubtedly one of the most popular trainers in 2021 and it looks like Nike have no plans on slowing down on the colourways this year.

Coming in a two-tone set up are the Harvest Moons which are made up of white and a tan-like shade, resulting in a bright pair of creps. Between the perforated toe boxes, full-length midsole and the padded collar, this shoe oozes comfort and you can attempt to cop a pair when they go on sale on the 6th.

8th January – SAUCONY X EXTRA BUTTER SHADOW 6000 ‘RABBIT HOLE’
Extra Butter x Saucony Shadow 6000 'White Rabbit'

Saucony are teaming up with premium boutique and lifestyle brand Extra Butter to give us a new collab in the form of the Shadow 6000 ‘Rabbit Hole’.

Extra Butter are known for taking inspiration from movies for their trainer collabs and for this one, they draw influence from Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, with the name of the shoe referring to White Rabbit’s “Down the rabbit hole” metaphor.

However, it’s also believed the trainer celebrates the release of the new Matrix movie – a franchise which also explores the ‘rabbit hole’ concept – with the red and blue hints being a nod to the red and blue pill.

Speaking on the trainer, Bernie Gross – Extra Butter’s Creative Director – said: “Though this shoe design is simple at first glance, there are nuances that elevate the design and speak to willingness to discover.”

15th January AIR JORDAN 4 RED THUNDER
Jordan 4 Red Thunder

Originally scheduled to drop, the Jordan 4 Red Thunders are hitting shelves in January! This trainer puts a spin on the 2005 Jordan 4 Thunders which arrived in a black and yellow colour scheme; replacing the yellow for red.

The shoe is dressed in an all-black nubuck upper, with dashes of red on the midsole and heeltab – as well as within the netted underlays and eyelets – providing the shoe with a vibrant feel.

18th January – Air Jordan 1 Mid Cream Grey

Whether you’re looking to start an AJ1 collection of if you want to build on your existing one, the Mid Cream Greys are an essential pair to get your hands on. While the cream and grey shades dominate much of the shoe, the gum outsole is the real head-turner and gives the trainer a clean finish.

21st January – Adidas ZX 5K BOOST Lerna Silver Cream

The start of a new year is a time for us all to look to the future and Adidas are doing just that with this futuristic pair of ZX 5K’s.

Drawing inspiration from the ZX 5000 and the ZK 2K Boost models, this shoe merges elements of both which all work together seamlessly. The ‘silver metallic’ elements of the trainer – specifically the three stripes which come in a reflective finish – provide a futuristic feel, complemented by the dashes of ‘solar red’ on the lace loops, heel loop, and outsole.

27th January – NOCTA x Nike Hot Step Air Terra White Chrome

After a year of previews and teases, Drake’s hugely anticipated NOCTA x Nike Hot Step Air Terra kicks are finally dropping!

First debuted in Drake’s video for “Laugh Now Cry Later”, the trainer comes in a white/chrome colourway with a premium white leather upper, metallic silver accents, an Air bubble in the heel and a rubber outsole. Drizzy has been seen sporting the shoe in snakeskin and black colour schemes, suggesting that more colourways of the shoe are in the works.

As we’ve seen with previous drops though, NOCTA sells out real quick so you’ll have to be pretty swift to get your hands on these!
