Los Angeles prosecutors have now charged Tory Lanez for shooting Megan Thee Stallion in an incident which occurred during the summer.

The Canadian artist faces two felony charges, one count of assault with a semiautomatic firearm and carrying a loaded, unregistered firearm in a vehicle.

The complaint from the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office also states Lanez “inflicted great bodily injury” to Megan Thee Stallion.

The charges are related to the incident in which Tory has been accused of shooting Megan’s feet following an argument they had in an SUV on July 12.

If convicted, he could face a maximum of 22 years in prison.

The charges come after Tory released an album in which he claimed he was being framed for the shooting, rapping: “Megan people trying to frame me for a shooting / But them boys ain’t clean enough.

“I see how they teaming up, watching and I’m calculating / Gotta keep it quiet, I can’t jeopardise the outcome waiting.”

Prior to the release of the album, Megan had named Tory as the shooter, saying on Instagram Live: “Yes this n***a Tory shot me.

“You shot me, and you got your publicist and your people going to these blogs lying and s**t. Stop lying.”

The case remains under investigation and Tory is due to appear in court on October 13.
