Capital Xtra’s Robert Bruce changed scenery for this weekend. Despite usually bringing us the best of Homegrown UK talent from the comfort of Capital Xtra’s studio, the radio presenter found himself at the centre of London’s iconic Wireless Festival and joined by performing act Tory Lanez.
Bumping into Lanez, the duo begin the conversation with a dramatic start as Tory claimed “I could’ve done better” when asked about his set. The 26-year-old admits he’s a perfectionist and wants the best quality for all of his shows.
He speaks on the swag of the UK and how the fashion draws him in as well as the undeniable energy. He refers back to his own country of Canada, where similar to London, all areas are a melting pot of culture.
Tory Lanez is one artist not afraid to express the way he feels, making a bold statement referring to his Chixtape 5 project as “one of the best r&b projects in the last 10 years”. Aiming for the drop to be around early fall, the Canadian perfectionist wants to make sure his project is 1000% before it reaches our sound systems.
On the subject of Canadian and UK collaborations, Lanez has recently joined forces with Nafe Smalls and Wiley, also exposing that he has a track with Giggs on the way.
