Tottenham Hotspurs have sacked their manager Nuno Espírito Santo after just four months.

The new was confirmed by Tottenham’s Managing Director of Football, Fabio Paratici, in a statement today (November 1).

“I know how much Nuno and his coaching staff wanted to succeed and I regret that we have had to take this decision,” Paratici said.

“Nuno is a true gentleman and will always be welcome here. We should like to thank him and his coaching staff and wish them well for the future.”

The Portuguese coach was appointed the manager of Spurs back in June after four years at Wolves.

However, it hasn’t been plain sailing since then as the club have lost five of their past seven Premier League games. Spurs are currently eight in the table.

A decision on who will replace Nuno will “follow in due course”, Tottenham said.
