Fresh off the success of viral hit “Miss The Rage”, Trippie Redd has released his latest project, Trip at Knight (Complete Edition. At 18 tracks long, with features from the likes of Lil Uzi Vert and Ski Mask the Slump God, fans are undoubtedly still taking in the project, but one particular track has already attracted attention. Featuring the larger-than-life legend that is Drake, “Betrayal” has sent the internet into a frenzy.
The instrumental is lead by swirling, psychedelic synthesisers that draw the listener into a druggy haze before Trippie comes in with his trademark screaming/singing delivery.
Having Drake as a feature regularly leads to the main artist being overshadowed, and this song is no different. Whilst Trippie does well, it isn’t until Drake comes in that the potential of the beat feels fully realised. Rapping with the confidence and charisma of a seasoned veteran, Drake proves once again that he can adapt to the changing soundscapes of rap music today. Make sure to check out “Betrayal” below, and be sure to take in the full Trippie project when you get the chance.
