Twitter has introduced a new feature called “Topics”.
Topics will expand the reach of functions such as following, muting & adding to lists by letting you focus on specific interests. You’ll be able to follow interests on your twitter, for example, if you choose your favourite band or football club, you’ll be shown “top tweets” and popular accounts that are linked with that interest.
The feature is due to roll out worldwide from today (November 13th) and it’s expected that Twitter will suggest topics for you to follow based on who/what you already follow.
Not only will you be able to follow interests for Topics, but you can mute things you don’t want to hear about entirely.
The Topics tab will appear in the sidebar menu and will list all the interests you have followed, this will also be visible to anyone who can see your full profile.
