Tyson Fury Announces Plans To Retire After Dillian Whyte Fight

2 March 2022

Britain’s heavyweight world champion Tyson Fury has claimed he is retiring from boxing after his upcoming bout with Dillian Whyte.

Fury made the announcement at a press conference launching his fight with Whyte yesterday (March 1)

Speaking at the conference, Fury said: “This is the final fight of my career, I’m retiring after this, $150m in the bank, healthy, young, I’m gonna buy a massive yacht abroad. I’m retiring, I’m out, this is my final fight, I’m done.”

Tyson Fury and Dillian Whyte are set to go head to head at Wembley Stadium on April 23rd. The fight will mark Dillian Whyte’s first attempt at a world title in his career.

Fury is coming off the back of his trilogy series with Deontay Wilder, in which he secured two wins.

Following this fight, Fury was set to face the winner of Anthony Joshua’s rematch with Oleksandr Usyk but his new announcement on retirement has casted doubt on any hopes of an AJ match-up.
