Tyson Fury has announced that he will be retiring from boxing for a second time. The former WBA, IBF, WBO and IBO heavyweight champion took to Instagram to make the announcement:

This is not the first time the Gypsy King has retired, he claimed he had hung up his gloves in October last year:

The 28-year-old, who won all 25 of his fights, has not stepped inside a boxing ring since he defeated Wladimir Klitschko in November 28th 2015.

Last year, Fury vacated the WBA and WBO titles after admitting using cocaine to cope with depression. Consequently, the British Boxing Board of Control (BBBC) suspended his boxing licence.

In recent months, Fury has posted several video’s of himself preparing for a comeback but it looks like those plans have been scrapped for good.

He may be a controversial character but boxing will be boring without him.
