UEFA Formally Postpones Champions League & Europa League Finals Due To COVID-19

Uefa have officially postponed the finals for the Champions League, Europa League and WCL as a result of coronavirus.

The sporting body announced the news on Twitter, sharing a link to their full statement on the decision.

As a result of the COVID-19 crisis, UEFA has today formally postponed the following finals, originally scheduled for May 2020.@UWCL@EuropaLeague@ChampionsLeague

No decision has yet been made on rearranged dates. Further announcements will be made in due course.

The finals for the three tournaments were originally scheduled to take place in May but have now been pushed back for dates which are due to be announced.

Last week, all English football fixtures were suspended until at least April 30 due to coronavirus.

News of the suspension of the Uefa finals comes after deaths as a result of the infection reached 335 in the UK.
