Cardiff Metropolitan University’s students are set for a busy final term, with exams, assessments and lectures being piled on top of a heroic Europa League play-off against Bangor City.

The students are set to face rivals Bangor in a match at Bangor University Stadium that would see the winner progress to the First Qualifying Round of next season’s Europa League. A win for Cardiff Met could see their students line up to face Scottish Giants Rangers, the Scots’ league rivals, Aberdeen, or Maccabi Tel Aviv. Cardiff Met players pay £150 to play, with those fees going towards kit and match day preparation.

Wins in that round could result in matches against Manchester United, Everton or Arsenal. Yikes.

Christian Edwards, a former Nottingham Forest and Swansea defender is the club’s Director of Football, whilst former Bristol City Striker Wayne Allison is the team’s manager. Their team is set to line up against a strong Bangor City side who are also desperate to reach the Europa League Qualifying Stage.
