Coca Cola is in conversations with Aurora Cannabis about making marijuana infused drinks in the US.
Coca Cola are yet to comment but have stated that they are watching the cannabis market closely. The drinks will aim to relieve pain rather than give the “high” which is associated with inhaling marijuana.
Similar companies are said to be sharing the same interest as Coca Cola since the market to estimated to grow to $2.1 billion by 2020 from $202 million in 2015. Corona Beer have poured $4 billion into the marijuana market already.
Whether or not this happens – particularly in the UK, where weed is of course still fully illegal – remains to be seen, but stay tuned to GRM Daily for more details.
