Adding to the recent Police brutality in the US being exposed online, South Carolina Police officer Deputy Ben Fields is going viral today, and rightly so. The officer can be seen on film assaulting a female high school student in her classroom at Spring Valley High School, while she is still sitting at her desk.

The video shows Fields, who is also a powerlifter, standing over the girl’s desk and tells the student, “either you’re coming with me or I’ll make you.” He then grabs her and throws her over, slamming her and the desk onto the ground before she has time to get out of her seat. Despite the blow, she has not been injured.

Reports read that he has been pulled from the school where he worked as a resource officer since the video surfaced. Students say that he has a history of being unfairly rough with students.

The caption of the video reads:

“Please make this video famous. This is Officer Ben Fields assaulting a peaceful female high school student at Spring Valley High School in Columbia South Carolina. Students and graduates both told me he has been brutal like this for years.

This was earlier today.

The Sheriff’s Office just confirmed for me that this student was not physical, but that she was “verbally disruptive” and that the officer was “forced” to do this since she “resisted arrest”. Nah.”
