The date many a grime fan has awaited is finally here, as the scene’s originator comes through with his Godfather 2 album.
It has been a rather hectic 12 months for Bow E3’s musical genius, with the release of his autobiography Eskiboy, as well as trip to Buckingham palace to receive his MBE award, but now finally after the wait we have his brand new follow up album Godfather 2.
Godfather 2 is a 12 track project and features a number of notable artists, with Shakka, Jme, D Double E, Kyla, Wretch 32 and Scratchy all appearing. The album is very much what it says on the tin, sublime grimy production in the first as we would more than expect from the maestro himself, catchy hooks, and hard bars.
The first five tracks are almost like a throwback to the excellent Playtime Is Over, Grime Wave, and Treddin’ On Thin Ice, with the vibe somewhat changing from track 6six,onwards although there are still a couple grimy riddims amongst the remaining tunes.
