Yesterday saw the awards ceremony take place for the prestigious Ivor Novello Awards and among the recipients of a prize was none other than the Godfather of Grime, Wiley.
The artist is most known for being one of the architects of the grime genre in the early noughties and the Ivors honoured his achievements for such work by awarding Wiley ‘The Ivors Inspiration’ award.
Wiley posted a photo on Instagram to celebrate his huge win, accompanied by the caption: “@ivorsacademy Thank you I won an award #MoreLife”.
Another grime veteran in attendance at the awards ceremony was Ghetts, who was nominated alongside Kojey Radical for ‘Best Contemporary Song’ for their powerful collaboration “Black Rose”.
