Wireless Festival unfortunately had to be cancelled this year due to the coronavirus pandemic but the organisers aren’t leaving us empty-handed as they’ve revealed Wireless Connect – a three-day virtual festival from the 3-5th July.
Wireless Connect will have an entire weekend’s worth of unseen performances and exclusive footage. Pre-recorded performances on the MelodyVR app will be available in 360° virtual reality, with content streamed on the Facebook Wireless page.
Bespoke pre-recorded content on Instagram and Twitter will guide you to the stream of your favourite artists so you’ll never have to miss a moment.
The full line-up is yet to be announced but Drake, Stormzy, Migos, and Travis Scott are among artists who have performed at the festival in the past so we can expect some of the hottest musicians on the scene to be making an appearance at the virtual festival.
Melvin Benn, managing director of Festival Republic, said: “There’s no more forward-thinking festival than Wireless, and there’s no more forward-thinking way of hosting a festival than in 360 VR.
“We’ll be filming artists in MelodyVR’s amazing studio space in LA, built just for this purpose and in the historic theatre at Ally Pally, which MelodyVR will turn into Wireless Connect. No one has done this before…”
