Banksy is one of the most mysterious characters of our generation. Providing us with some of the most iconic and memorable street art of the last decade, he has always been one to provoke thoughts.
A documentary he released entitled “Exit Through The Gift Shop” saw him go to Disneyland and place his art around the park and even put stuffed models of Guantanamo Bay prisoners in the middle of a ride. It’s obvious he is a lover of Disney then?
He has now opened his own ‘bemusement park’ called Dismaland. Based in Weston Super-Mare, the park is the complete opposite to Disneyland. It’s dismal (no pun intended). Security guards tell you to “end joy” instead of enjoy, remote-controlled boats are filled with refugees instead of happy people, and in the castle; you see Cinderella got herself into a state.
They were selling tickets online but now have stopped due to traffic on the site, you can still get tickets but have to queue for hours outside the attraction.
