7 of the biggest annoucements from the Xbox E3 event

Microsoft’s E3 event took place over the weekend and the tech giant made several important announcements.

In case you missed out on attending the gaming event in sunny Los Angeles, we have compiled seven of Microsoft’s most important announcements which include a new console, a flagship game and much more.

1) The new Xbox console

Xbox announced last night that their new console which is currently known by the code name Project Scarlett will arrive next year. For more extensive coverage on this, click here and check out the announcement trailer for the console below.

2) Cyberpunk 2077

E3 attendees were treated to a surprise when Keanu Reeves took to the stage. The actor announced that Cyberpunk 2077 will arrive in April of next year and then premiered a new trailer which reveals that the actor will be one of the game’s main characters.

3) Halo: Infinite

Microsoft announced that Project Scarlett will be announced at the same time as the latest instalment in the Halo franchise, Halo Infinite. Click here to watch the trailer.

4) Xbox Elite Wireless Controller, Series 2

As fans wait for Project Scarlett, they can improve their current console generation experience with the new controller which comes equipped with a built-in battery and new and improved grips.

5) Gears 5

The trailer for Gears 5, the follow up to Gears of War 4 was unveiled and will offer fans new adventures, storylines and a new multiplayer mode

6) Minecraft Dungeons

The trailer for the brand-new Minecraft instalment was released and will take a darker tone this time with its focus on dungeons and dragons.

7) Blair Witch

Horror film fans will remember the cult classic film The Blair Witch Project which was released in 1999 and is recognised as one of the first mainstream films to use the found footage/hidden camera technique that is now prevalent in films such as Paranormal Activity, End of Watch and Project X.

The film will be reimagined as a video game and will allow gamers to play out some of the film’s most notable moments.
