Drill, the explosive genre of music that has increased in popularity over the last few years, edging its way into mass media, and different artists from around the world have been picking up the sound.
Up next to put their own twist on the ever-growing genre is Yaw Tog – the Ghanian rapper at the core of West African drill.
Yaw Tog recruits the aid of Stormzy and Kwesi Arthur on the huge recently released “Sore” remix that features on the EP and having two icons on a track at the age of 17 indicates that they also believe in Yaw Tog’s talent.
While we’re used to hearing Yaw Tog spit bars that suit a track’s catchy and thumping drill instrumental, he proves that he can also deliver slower songs such as “Fake Ex” where he channels a more laid-back approach to open up about being broke in the past.
There isn’t a single song that sounds the same across the seven tracks and the rising star is putting his name on the map with this project.
