Images of Kanye West’s new social housing project have been revealed.

The rapper will add homes to the Yeezy brand which currently included his clothing line, Adidas shoes and apparel.

Yeezy Home was revealed by Kanye last year. The artist said on Twitter, “we’re starting a Yeezy architecture arm called Yeezy home. We’re looking for architects and industrial designers who want to make the world better”.

Construction began a few weeks ago and is taking place on a lot of land Kanye purchased in Calabasas in Los Angeles a few years ago.

Calabasas is a luxurious area of California which is home to celebrities such as Kim Kardashian, The Game, Kanye West and Drake. The average income in Calabasas is over £100,000 a year; almost double that of other areas in America including Detroit.

The domed buildings are built of concrete material and the homes are being constructed to be affordable and house those with low-incomes. Yeezy Homes is being marketed as social housing. In UK terms, Yeezy Homes will be the equivalent of a council or housing association rented property.

To help with the project’s architectural and industrial design. Kanye has called on several designers including Jalil Peraza, Petra Kustrin, Nejc Škufca and Vadik Marmeladov.

Yeezy Homes will add to Kanye’s plethora of projects outside of music; most recently, the rapper dropped two new Yeezy Boosts, the Analog 700s and the 350 V2’s in the new Tephra colourway.
