A few weeks ago, Yungen promised us he’d be dropping a new tape in January and he’s kept to his word by unleashing his fresh project, Project Purple.
A mixture of thought-provoking content and light-hearted tracks, Project Purple fuses the diverse styles which make up Yungen’s sound and acts as a demonstration of his versatility as an artist. The tape’s opening and closing songs – “Off the Record 3” and “First of the Second” – are both filled with from-the-heart lyrics while the main body of the work is dominated by playful and lively tunes.
Prior to its release, Yungen dropped a few collaborative singles such as “Pricey” featuring One Acen and “Comfortable” with Dappy and they, too, are included on the project. The tape also features a smooth new single entitled “Myself” featuring the talented singer Angel.
Since delivering his debut album Project Black & Red back in 2014, Yungen has found chart success with his big singles “Bestie” and “Mind On It” so it wouldn’t be far-fetched to expect his latest offering to gain a place in the charts too.
