Daniel Sturridge might be a bad boy baller for Liverpool and England, but today he’s announced a new business venture in the world of music.

The striker has launched his own record label – Birmingham based Dudley Road Records – and its first release, a track called “Miss You” from artists Screama and Capstone Heights.

“The reason why I started a record label is because I’ve been very passionate about music since a young age,” said Sturridge on creating the new venture.

“I’ve always loved the management/business side of things and was always intrigued by successful record labels. It is something that I’ve always thought I would like to do given the opportunity and time to do so.

“We would like to give people an opportunity from not just Birmingham but all over the world, we would love to help people build long lasting careers. Dudley Road Records is an open minded record label that will house a catalogue of different genres, Dudley Road will also give artists an opportunity to become successful whilst making the music they are passionate about”.

The label will aim to provide releases that fuse genres like R&B, afrobeats, hip-hop, house and bass music. “Miss You” is due out on October 20th.
