Now that the dust has finally settled on the release of More Life Drake has had the opportunity to focus his energy on adding some artists to the ever growing OVO roster.
A few weeks ago Drake announced the signing of Toronto RnB singer Plaza, who’s EP Shadow was debuted on an episode of OVO Sound Radio.
Not one to rest on his laurels, Drake has added another long-time affiliate to the label, Baka – or Baka Not Nice as he’s sometimes better known as. Baka got his foot in to door by being a part of Drake security team, then he began contributing backing vocals as well as working on his own solo projects.
Drake is a big fan of his long-term friend commitment saying, “When [he] got out of jail there was a lot of different paths he could’ve took and he decided to focus on music”. Baka has contributed to “Hype”, “Gyalchester” and “Free Smoke”. He was also name checked at the beginning of his tune with Giggs “No Long Talk”.
Drake announced Baka’s solo project 4Milli back in May, no further details have surfaced, however with his official signing this may soon change. In the meantime, Baka just dropped the coldest joint “Live Up To My Name”, which you can hear by clicking right here.
