Every year Forbes release their infamous Rich List ranking the world’s wealthiest names. The list is then split into different sectors, and one of the most eagerly awaited is the annual breakdown of hip hop artists.

Sean Combs AKA Diddy has topped the list for years now and it’s no different this year, as the music and vodka mogul remains in the number one spot. However the gap is now closing between him and number two on the list, Jay Z.

Jay’s value has jumped this year after investing in mobile network Sprint and starting his own venture capital investment fund. He’s closely followed by Dr Dre, who is worth $740 million – no, despite common belief none of them billionaires… yet.

The top three are all major players, but there’s a sly jump between number three and four on the list, with Birdman coming in after Dre with an estimated $180 million. However, with rumours that Drake and Nicki Minaj could be jumping ship from Cash Money, and his public beef with former bestie Lil Wayne, how long is Birdman going to even be on this list for?

Rounding off the top five list is man of the minute, Drake. After Views became the first album to clock up one billion streams on Apple Music, it’s unsurprising that Drizz is closing in on the richest ballers. Whether you’re a fan or not, Aubrey Graham is killing it in the game.

An insane fact to mull over: Drake is 30 years old, meaning he is young enough to be the son of any of the top four artists on this list. Mad.
