Good news for Londoners today as it has been confirmed the London Overground will run for 24 hours on a Friday and Saturday from December, alike the night tube which was launched last year.

Only part of the line will be 24 hours however, with the night services applying to trains running from New Cross Gate and Dalston Junction. It will be extended to Highbury and Islington in 2018.

Sadiq Khan released the following statement on the news, saying, “Our Night Tube services have been a real success right across the capital, so I’m delighted to announce that we’ll be bringing the Night Overground to the East London line later this year.

“It will provide huge benefits to Londoners and visitors to our city, helping those working hard through the night and all those out enjoying everything London has to offer, as well as creating jobs and boosting our economy.”

Looks like random nights out in East just got made that little bit easier.
