Welcome back to The Plug, your only definitive guide to the best music out of our scene, every single week. Last week, we had hits from Chip, AJ Tracey and of course the undisputed legend that is R.S. aka Roll Safe. Although this week it was nearly impossible to match the quality of the “Lithen” mastermind, our guy Griff has managed to pull together a host of bangers anyway. Check out the 7 picks below and find the full playlist at the bottom.

Don’t forget to check out last week’s playlist right here too.

Yungen – You Don’t Know Me Like That

After signing his first record deal, Yungen is ready to start making some real waves in the scene. To start off his new campaign is his next single “You Don’t Know Me Like That”. It’s bouncy, energetic and full of the kind of quotables we expect from the South London MC. Just don’t let him near your girl.

Ghetts & Rude Kid – One Take

Ghetts and Rude Kid just dropped their collaborative EP ‘Six Five Three’ and it’s safe to say it’s absolute fire. One highlight is this banger, “One Take”, a fast-paced grime tune that has Ghetto skipping his way over the track, even dropping a little nod to Section Boyz while he’s at it. Check out the track below and be sure to cop the EP here.

J Hus – Breathe

As part of Radio 1Xtra’s increasingly dope MC Month, J Hus stepped into the Live Lounge to perform his single “Lean & Bop“, as well as this very sick cover of Blu Cantrell’s classic “Breathe”. The Husla fits right at home on the track, his dancehall-tinged delivery sitting easily on the live instrumentation. Generations collide on this huge tune and we love the result.

Big Tobz – #UnoMyStyle

This East London and Manchester link up could be one of the sleeper hits of the year. Over Manny producer Lish’s amazingly laid-back riddim, Big Tobz sounds confident as f*ck, flexing a cool and calm flow, with a sly hint of patois in the delivery. This may have come out over a week ago, but the new video has breathed new life into the tune and we couldn’t miss it. Be sure to check the vid right here.

MoStack – I Do

One of the game’s most interesting newcomers has to be MoStack, the North London MC who has some serious bars a penchant for a bit of weirdness too. There’s nothing strange about his latest track “I Do” though, which is packed full of bars and a serious hook.

Dave – Detroit vs Everybody Freestyle (Warm Up Session)

Someone who probably wasn’t on anyone’s radar last week, is freshly-turned 17 rapper Dave, who despite his common name, is definitely one of a kind. Despite his young age, he drops some surprisingly sophisticated verses with real meaty lyrical content, taking on Eminem’s “Detroit vs Everybody” instrumental.

Chip – Bookey
