Much like in his music, when it comes to interviews, Kanye pushes conventions. He’s not really one for discussion, it’s more of a proclaiming his views to the world kinda thing when Yeezy does his promo.

His slightly crackly phone call with Annie Mac on Radio 1 last night had all the wild and wonderful features we’ve come to expect of a Yeezerview – references to Walt Disney, Stanley Kubrick, and Quentin Tarantino, high pitch moments of excitement, and a whole bag of Kanyeisms.

But we also learnt a load of new, interesting things from ‘Ye last night. Here’s seven of our favourite.

Kanye wants to… do Yeezy’s for mad cheap

Kanye is committed to creatively Kanyefying a whole lot of stuff for the people – first of all, shoes. Pay Less, America’s discount shoe retailer, shunned Ye from working with them, so now he is working with Adidas to bring his Yeezy’s to the people for the totally affordable price of $30 (that’s about £22.50). That is pretty dope.

Kanye wants to… design minimalist student dorms with Ikea

And after shoes, he wants to do interiors. Another global brand Kanye has approached is Ikea. His message was simple “Yo IKEA, allow Kanye to create.” All he wants is to do some student dorms with TVs on the wall – is it too much to ask?

Kanye wants to… redefine the term “rant”

In 2016, amongst a bag of stuff Kanye is immediately associated with – staggering debt, speech interruptions, fashion lines – rant is probably top of the list. Kanye rants on radio, on stage, and on songs. But he is sick of rants being called rants. From this point on, he wants them called “dreaming out loud”. Rant over.

Kanye wants to… be President

He wasn’t joking about that 2020 Presidential run. In his own words: “I don’t have views on politics, I just have a view on humanity, on people, on the truth. If there is anything that I can do with my time and my day, to somehow make a difference while I’m alive I’m going to try to do it.”

The CD is dead, so Kanye switched up The Life Of Pablo loads

Kanye called his last labum an “open casket to the CD.” Our old ways of consuming music are dead, he believes – he tweaked TLOP a gazillion times to prove that point.

Kanye thinks the “Famous” video gave people (metaphorical) balls

Featuring a naked President, Swifty, ex-girlfriend and ex-boyfriend of current wife in a music video is up there with Kanye’s most controversial moves. He believes the audacity of his divisive “Famous” visual gave people around the world inspiration, or “balls” as he put it.

Kim K won’t cook Kanye any greens

“When my wife cooks for me I will always ask for greens and she never wants to cook the greens because they take three hours to cook.”

Um, yeah, I don’t know either, but I reckon the world wouldn’t be quite so good without some Kanye-crazy in it.
