U.S. duo City Girls have given the visual treatment to their big single, “Twerkulator”.
Sampling Afrika Bambaataa’s legendary 80s hit “Planet Rock”, City Girls’ JT and Yung Miami use their playful lyrics and a catchy hook to create a fun-filled vibe on “Twerkulator”. The visuals -directed by the legend that is Missy Elliott – are equally as energetic as the song and, as expected, include a whole lot of twerking!
The song was initially meant to feature on the duo’s 2020 album City On Lock but the label was unable to clear the sample in time. However, the track leaked and became a viral sensation on TikTok.
“Twerkulator” has continued to grow in popularity since its official release in May and with the arrival of these fun visuals, we can expect this song to keep racking up the plays throughout summer 2021.
