Comedian and presenter Munya Chawawa has been announced as the host of a new YouTube comedy series titled Race Around Britain.
The four-part series – which is created, exec produced and fronted by Munya – will follow him as he sets off on a personal mission, exploring the Black British experience, race and prejudice in different parts of the UK, while also looking to see to what extent a lack of cultural education and exposure contributes to division in our society.
We’re used to seeing him deliver hilarious sketches on Instagram but this series will see Munya use his satirical and witty humour to have real conversations with different communities about race in Britain.
“I’ve always wanted to create a show that embodies the black experience and explains our stories and our struggles through the medium of comedy,” Chawawa said. “The last few years have proved it to be the most effective means of tackling the biggest challenges posed by society.
“Race is one such challenge Britain has tussled with over the last year and I can’t wait to take it head on.”
