The first official trailer for the Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air reboot, titled Bel-Air, has arrived.
In 2019, Fresh Prince fan Morgan Cooper re-imagined the popular 90s sitcom as a gripping drama in a YouTube video which has now racked up over 7 million views.
The video caught the attention of Will Smith, who played the Fresh Prince in the original series, who has now teamed up with Cooper to develop the alternative trailer into a drama series.
Unlike the original series which was full of laughs, this new reboot of the Fresh Prince carries a much more serious tone to explore the lead character, Will Smith, in more depth.
“There’s so many layers to these characters,” Cooper said back in 2020 after learning his trailer had been picked up for a series. “We’re really going to peel back the layers of these iconic characters. We’re going to explore this world in an unforgettable way. It’s a show that’s really going to surprise people in the best way possible.”
Bel-Air will be available to stream in February on Peacock via Sky/NOW.
