London’s real Landlord has passed away. Gerald Cavendish Grosvenor, the Duke of Westminister and this year’s 5th richest man in the UK, died yesterday afternoon at the age of 64.

He passed away at the Royal Preston Hospital in Lancashire after suddenly becoming ill at his estate in Abbeystead.

His fortune of the Grosvenor family estate is estimated to be worth £9.35 billion ($13.32 billion), and holds over 300 acres of land across lavish West London, including areas like Belgravia and Mayfair.

In the Forbes list of the world’s richest, he was placed at 68th.

A Clarence House spokeswoman said the Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall are “deeply shocked and greatly saddened” by the sudden death of their friend the Duke of Westminster.
