Rapman and Rio Ferdinand are among those selected for the Queen’s birthday honours list this year.
For his services to drama and music, Rapman has been made a Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) whilst Rio Ferdinand has been made an OBE.
On the honour, Rapman said, “It really makes me feel like everything I’ve done has hit a target and it’s rising and rising, and to me it’s only the beginning – it’s only the start.
“But it does give you that push and what it’s done personally is, on top of that, is that when I told my parents, they were really excited, it made them happy as well, so that was nice.”
Boris Johnson said on the honourees this year, “This historic Platinum Jubilee is not only a celebration of the monarch but of the qualities she possesses. The honours she confers this week reflect many of those qualities that have been invaluable from all different walks of life and to communities across the UK. I pay tribute to all of this year’s winners. Their stories of courage and compassion are an inspiration to us all.”
